Drove through mountains in a tiny 5 person car. As the only girl on the trip and by far the smallest, of course I sat in the middle the whole time. So much beautiful scenery. Driving in Africa is nuts. People pull over all of the time into the shoulder so that you can pass them (exciting), and there are a stream of trucks you see with 10 pairs of feet sticking out the back and little kids mimicking gang signs seen on tv. We absolutely needed to stop more than once to check out all of the views.
I'm going on a road trip to Pittsburgh with 3 museum buddies, but no way will the scenery nor the wildlife compare!
ReplyDeleteFrustrating that we lost our phone connection. Let us know the best way to communicate--blog comment? email? facebook? All's well here. WE're hankering down for another big snowstorm tomorrow.
We're all doing fine. I've been teaching at lots of senior centers, since school groups no longer have trip budgets. They love me, so of course, I'm having fun. Moriah's begun studying for the SATs and working hard. Dad's loving school and his students like him much better this semester, so he's uplifted. Grandma, the miracle woman, is back on her feet and even back in the car driving. Her first stop was to get a haircut since she felt like "cousin it".
Dad and I spent a fun weekend with alison saar, the highlight was the Brooklyn flea market at the Williamsburg Savings bank and our lunch there--fish tacos, spanakopita and lobster bisque. What a weird & wonderful mix of cultures. The shopping was fun and the eating was cheap and delicious. We miss you, but are so glad to read your blog and know you're having a fabulous time.
